Jaipur, June 12 -- Rajasthan agriculture minister Dr Kirori Lal Meena on Thursday uncovered serious irregularities at a bio-fertiliser manufacturing unit in Jaipur during an inspection. The inspection was carried out at Bio Fertilisers, located in the Hirawala Industrial Area of Kanota on the outskirts of Jaipur. During the visit, officials found that bio-fertilisers were allegedly being manufactured in violation of prescribed standards, states a release. According to the findings, bio-fertilisers, which should ideally be produced at a temperature of around 20 degrees Celsius, were being prepared at approximately 45 degrees Celsius. Experts accompanying the inspection noted that such high temperatures can destroy beneficial microorganisms present in bio-fertilisers, significantly reducing their effectiveness and quality. Several bio-fertiliser products carried misleading information on their labels and the product validity claims were also overstated.
