Jaipur, March 11 -- The fifth session of the 16th Rajasthan Assembly concluded on Tuesday evening, with Speaker Vasudev Devnani adjourning the House sine die at 6:06 pm after 24 sittings and nearly 184 hours of proceedings. Reviewing the session, the Speaker described it as productive, highlighting that nearly 97% of questions raised by MLAs during the first four sessions of the 16th Assembly have received responses from the state government. Of the 22,735 questions submitted across four sessions, replies to 22,074 have been received - a development Devnani termed "historic" for the Assembly, attributing it to continuous review and monitoring. During the fifth session alone, the House received 8,919 questions, including 4,311 starred, 4,603 unstarred and five short-notice questions. Of the 440 starred questions listed, 232 were answered orally, while 451 unstarred questions were also taken up. The session witnessed extensive debates on the Governor's Address and the 2026-27 Budget. On the Motion of Thanks to the Governor's Address, members of the Bharatiya Janata Party spoke for over 13 hours, while the Indian National Congress participated for nearly 11 hours, with other parties also contributing to the discussion. In the general debate on the 2026-27 Budget estimates, the BJP spoke for 9 hours and 42 minutes, the Congress for 8 hours and 19 minutes, and other parties for over an hour. Discussions on demands for grants continued for several days, with BJP members speaking for nearly 37 hours, Congress for over 21 hours, and others for more than four hours....
