97.20% pass RBSE Class 12 exams, girls outshine boys
Jaipur, April 1 -- The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) declared Class 12 board exam results on Tuesday, with 97.20% of total candidates passing and girls outperforming boys once again, with five students jointly topping the exam with a score of 99.80%.
Of the total passed students, 97.77% are girls and 96.46% are boys. Last year, at least 97.76% of the candidates passed, of which 98.68% were girls and 96.73% were boys.
This year, at least 899,080 candidates appeared for the exam-of whom 285,299 were from science stream, 30,580 from commerce stream, and 583,201 from arts stream. Of the total candidates, 651,422 also passed with first class.
The pass percentage of the science stream was 97.52%-of whom the qualifying rate for girls was 98.34% and 97.02% for boys. Last year, 98.43% students passed in this stream.
The corresponding figure for the arts candidates was 97.54%-of whom the qualifying rate for girls was 98.29% and 96.68% for boys. Last year, 97.78% students passed in the arts stream.
At least 93.64% students also passed in the commerce stream, in which 92.82% were girls and 94.04% were boys. Last year, 99.07% students passed in this stream.
The education minister Madan Dilawar virtually released the result from Udaipur along with the other RBSE officials. He also congratulated the students, saying, "This is the result of your constant dedication and hard work. The students who failed to clear the exam must not lose their hope. This is just a test. The constant effort towards your goal will only bring you success."
He further added: "It is also historic how we released the board result in March for the first time in Rajasthan since independence. The evaluation process has been made more swift and accurate with the effort of the teachers and studnets. This proves how we are improving the entire system."
Once again, the RBSE also did not release any merit list but states that the meritorious students will be provided with some scholarships.
In an official statement, the higher secondary education board said, "Last year, we started a re-checking facility for the Mathematics. This year, we will also provide this facility in English and all science subjects. It will help students to clear their doubts and rely on their marks."
Board examination will be conducted twice every year to provide students a stress-free environment and an opportunity for improvement. "The board will also ensure that every student gets textbooks by March every year from the next session while the fund to buy uniforms will also be transferred to their accounts through DBT," the board stated.
The officials also stated that the next session for the higher secondary level will start from April 1. "In the new session, the total working days will be 244 days, up from earlier 235 days."...
