3 govt school girls get chopper ride as reward for excellence
Jaipur, March 14 -- A classroom conversation turned into an indelible moment for three girls from a government school in Nagaur district as their principal rewarded their academic performance with a helicopter ride.
The initiative was taken by school principal Rajendra Dhaka, who said the aim was to encourage students to dream big and work hard to achieve their goals.
According to Dhaka, the school conducted a test ahead of the class VIII examinations, in which three girls emerged as toppers. During an interaction with them, the principal asked them about their dreams. The students, who come from rural backgrounds, said that they had always wished to sit in a helicopter at least once in their lives.
Motivated by their effort and determination, the school decided to fulfil their dream. After the students performed well in their studies, arrangements were made for the special experience. On the day of the event, the girls were taken to Chomu near Jaipur, where they were given a helicopter ride. The excitement and joy were clearly visible on their faces as they boarded the aircraft.
Dhaka said the ride was initially planned in Nagaur, but permission for the helicopter operation could not be obtained there. As a result, the students were brought to Chomu for the experience.
The students said they had never imagined their dream would come true so soon and described the helicopter ride as a once-in-a-lifetime experience. They said the gesture has inspired them to study even harder and make their families and village proud.
One of the students, Jyoti, said she was overwhelmed by the experience.
"It feels very good. We secured top three ranks in the VIII pre-board test. When our principal asked us about our wish, we said we wanted to ride in a helicopter. One day, he came to our home and told us the arrangement had been made. At first, we couldn't believe it," she said, recalling the moment her dream began to turn into reality.
The principal said such initiatives help build confidence among students and motivate them to pursue bigger aspirations. He added that if children receive the right guidance and encouragement, they can achieve any milestone, and such efforts in government schools can play a crucial role in inspiring young minds....
