Jaipur, March 30 -- Over a month after a local woman BJP leader in Udaipur filed a complaint against an advocate she was working under, accusing him of rape and blackmail, several obscene videos of the woman were found in his possession, police said on Sunday, adding that the charge sheet has been filed. The investigating officer and DSP, Gopal Chandel, said, "The charge sheet was filed on Saturday after a detailed investigation based on the FIR that the victim lodged on February 12 at Bhupalpura police station. We also arrested the accused advocate, Vikram Gurjar, the very next day on February 13. We had seized his mobile phones, laptops, and other devices from where we found over 24 obscene videos. Prima facie, he used to blackmail the woman with them." According to the officials, the charge sheet mentioned that the accused also bought a digital watch in which a hidden camera was installed while several such hidden cameras were installed at his office as well to record the movements of the BJP leader. "All the videos were recorded, edited, and saved in a 32 GB memory card from November 2025 to February 2026. He also transferred many of those videos in his mobile phone time to time. We have also taken statements from 12 witnesses including the owner of the shop from where he bought the hidden cameras," said Chandel. A political slugfest had erupted in Rajasthan last month after an advocate was arrested in Udaipur when a local BJP leader accused him of raping and blackmailing her. The victim alleged that she had been working at his office as a junior for the last one year. However, one day in November, the advocate had allegedly served her a glass of cold drinks which was spiked with some alcoholic substance. After consuming the drink she fainted. "When she regained consciousness, she realised that her dress was not proper. The accused showed her some obscene photos of her and started blackmailing that he would upload them on the internet if she reports the matter," said Chandel quoting the FIR. After being frustrated over the constant blackmailing, the woman decided to approach the police and lodged an FIR against Gurjar at Bhupalpura police station under necessary sections of rape and blackmailing under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and also some relevant sections of the IT Act for taking the obscene photos. On February 12, the police also conducted a raid at the residence of Vikram Gurjar late at night and arrested him. The accused's family members had alleged that the woman is trying to frame him in a false case and also condemned police for arresting him at midnight....
