2 labourers dEad as soil collapses while digging well in Karauli
India, May 24 -- Two labourers died after being buried under collapsed soil while digging a well in Rajasthan's Karauli district on Saturday, police said. The incident took place in Amargarh village under Sapotra police station limits.
Police said the well had dried up following which villagers decided to deepen it from inside to access water. During the excavation, the soil inside the well suddenly caved in, burying the two labourers who were working at a considerable depth.
After receiving information about the incident, police and administrative officials reached the spot and launched a rescue operation.
Abhijit Kumar, Sapotra police station in-charge, said the two men were pulled out of the well and rushed to hospital, where doctors declared them dead....
