2 bikers charred to death after power line snaps in Alwar: police
alwar, June 2 -- Two motorcycle riders were electrocuted and charred to death after an 11 kV overhead power line snapped and fell onto a road in Alwar district on Monday evening, police said.
The incident occurred on the Dhiroda-Darogala road under the Tahla police station area. According to police, the high-voltage electricity line suddenly broke and fell onto the roadway just as two men were passing through on a motorcycle. The live wire came into direct contact with the bike and its riders, subjecting them to a massive electric shock.
The two men suffered extensive burns and died on the spot before any help could reach them. Their motorcycle was completely reduced to ashes, police said.
Police from Tahla police station reached the spot and initiated rescue and investigation procedures.
The bodies were taken into custody and later shifted to the Community Health Centre in Tahla for post-mortem examination.
