14.6K houses built for Sahariya families under PM-Janman: Govt
Jaipur, Oct. 10 -- More than 14,600 houses have been completed for Sahariya families in Rajasthan under the Centre's PM-JANMAN scheme, while over 16,000 eligible households have received electricity connections and more than 4,000 families have been provided tap water connections, according to the state government.
The scheme, aimed at improving basic infrastructure and access to essential services for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), is being implemented across eight blocks of Baran district, including Kishanganj and Shahabad.
According to government data, 14,671 houses have been completed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin as part of the initiative. Work on 22 roads has also been completed to improve connectivity.
Rajasthan has an estimated 130,000 Sahariya people living across 324 revenue villages under 149 gram panchayats in Baran district.
The government said 15 multipurpose centres, 51 anganwadi centres and 51 Van Dhan centres are operational, while two hostels have been completed. Another 19 hostels are scheduled for completion by June 2027.
The Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation has provided skill-development training to 621 people from PVTG communities.
Eight mobile medical units have also provided healthcare services to more than 245,000 people, particularly in remote areas....
