1 dead, 2 critical after delivery complications
Bikaner, June 21 -- Two women affected by post-delivery complications reported at Bikaner's PBM Hospital continue to remain critical, while another is showing signs of improvement, according to the latest health bulletin issued by the hospital. The update comes after 20-year-old Preeti became the first fatality in the case after battling severe complications for nearly three weeks.
Surendra Kumar Verma, principal of Sardar Patel Medical College (SPMC), confirmed Preeti's death and told HT that an autopsy was conducted soon after her demise. "The findings would be examined along with reports of the ongoing inquiries and laboratory tests to determine the exact cause behind the complications reported in the affected women," Verma said.
According to the latest health bulletin, Kamla remains under treatment for sepsis and acute kidney injury and continues to be in a critical condition. Sharda is on controlled ventilator support and underwent dialysis on Friday. Imrati, however, is stable and showing gradual improvement, hospital authorities said.
PBM Hospital superintendent Dr. Bhikam Chand Ghiya said the probable cause of Preeti's death was multiple organ failure. He said her kidneys had stopped functioning and despite intensive treatment, she died on Thursday afternoon.htc...
