Jaipur, June 20 -- Rajasthan cabinet minister Kirori Lal Meena has written to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) demanding that it either publicly clarify his alleged role in the fake seed bribery case or arrest him if any evidence exists against him. In a letter to the ACB director general on Friday, Meena accused the agency of allowing suspicion to be cast on him despite his name not appearing in the FIR and alleged that the case was being used to tarnish his political image. In the letter dated June 19, Meena alleged that political opponents and sections of the media had attempted to implicate him in the case despite the FIR not naming him. He claimed that doubts had been deliberately created in the public mind regarding his involvement and sought a clear statement from the ACB to remove what he described as a cloud of suspicion over his image. Referring to a news report published on June 10, Meena said opposition leaders, including Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra, had accused him of collecting money through officials of the agriculture department and suggested that raids were being used as a means of extortion. Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot had also demanded an investigation into the role of a minister in the alleged bribery case, he stated. The minister questioned how details of the case became public before the FIR was formally uploaded on the ACB website. According to him, the FIR was uploaded on June 9 at around 1.30 pm, while information related to the case had already started circulating. He demanded a thorough probe into how the information was leaked and who was responsible for making it viral. Meena further alleged that such a situation had rarely occurred in the history of the ACB, where contents of an FIR became widely circulated before the case details were formally available. He claimed that the episode had damaged his public image and created an impression that he was directly linked to the alleged bribery racket. "I want the public to be informed about who the doctor mentioned in the case is and who the minister is. I am both a doctor and a minister, which has led to confusion and suspicion about my role," Meena said in the letter. He added that if the ACB could not publicly clarify the matter, it should arrest him, stating that he was prepared to face arrest. The minister also demanded that Congress leader Govind Singh Dotasra provide evidence for his allegations that money was being collected in Sikar and that a minister was involved in the operation. Failing that, Meena warned that he would consider initiating legal action for defamation. He also referred to earlier allegations of corruption during the previous Congress government and claimed that he had submitted several complaints to the ACB regarding departments such as DoIT, JJM and the food department. However, he alleged that no significant action had been taken on those complaints. In one of the strongest portions of the letter, Meena accused the ACB of working under pressure and attempting to tarnish his reputation. He alleged that the agency was being used as a "political weapon" in the present case and suggested that reports linking him to the controversy were part of a larger conspiracy to damage his image....
