Jaipur, Aug. 6 -- Over 25.5 million people in Rajasthan have received institutional financial assistance worth over Rs.2.18 lakh crore under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), making the scheme a key driver of economic empowerment and financial inclusion for small entrepreneurs, street vendors and micro enterprises in the state. According to data shared by Union minister of state for finance Pankaj Chaudhary, in a written reply to an unstarred question in the Lok Sabha, 25,591,381 beneficiaries in Rajasthan have been sanctioned Mudra loans amounting to Rs.2,18,423 crore since the launch of the scheme in 2015. The minister said the scheme, implemented under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and with the support of the Rajasthan government led by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, has played a significant role in strengthening micro manufacturing units, small businesses and the unorganised sector while also promoting social security through access to formal credit. Women have emerged as the biggest beneficiaries of the scheme in Rajasthan. More than 15.4 million women have received Mudra loans worth over Rs.67,982 crore, accounting for nearly 60% of the total beneficiaries in the state. The data further showed that during the 2025-26 financial year alone, over 2.37 million beneficiaries in Rajasthan were disbursed loans worth Rs.31,460 crore under the scheme. Responding in Parliament, Chaudhary said the PMMY has made a significant contribution by providing collateral-free loans to the unorganised sector.
