Haldwani, June 7 -- A government school teacher was arrested and produced in court on Friday for allegedly raping and impregnating a 15-year-old student, and later administering abortion pills to her, police said on Saturday. Dharchula circle officer (CO) KS Rawat said preliminary investigation revealed that the accused teacher, posted at a government high school in Kanalichhina block, had allegedly raped the student repeatedly over a prolonged period. The case came to light after the girl's health deteriorated and she was taken to a hospital in Kanalichhina, where medical staff informed the police.
