MP alleges death threatto family; accused neighbour on the run
MEERUT, May 3 -- Shahjahanpur district police are looking into a matter wherein Arun Kumar Sagar, BJP MP from Shahjahanpur, alleged that his neighbour Neetu Singh used a casteist slur and issued death threats to his teenage son and family recently.
The MP further alleged that the accused man was acting at the behest of a leader from an opposition party. He said while a formal complaint has not yet been submitted regarding the incident, he intends to file an FIR soon and has demanded strict action against the accused who is at large. The incident occurred April 28 when the MP's son was on his way to playing cricket. As per reports, Neetu Singh, a South City Colony resident in Shahjahanpur where the MP lives, intercepted the teenager and began behaving abusively. When the MP's son objected, the accused allegedly turned aggressive and started punching the bonnet of his vehicle.
Police from Azizganj station reached the spot after being alerted, but the accused allegedly misbehaved with them before fleeing. On April 29, a call recording linked to the accused went viral on social media where he is purportedly heard issuing death threats to the MP and his family....
