GMDA will upgrade 3 key Gurugram roads
Gurugram, Oct. 30 -- The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has floated tenders to upgrade three key roads, including repairs to master and service roads, construction of footpaths and improvements to drainage, officials said on Thursday.
The projects cover the dividing roads between Sectors 52A and 53/43, between Sectors 3 and 5, and the stretch from Rajiv Chowk to Sadar Bazar.
The authority said tenders have been invited for all three projects, with work aimed at improving road surfaces, pedestrian facilities and stormwater drainage in the affected areas.
Amit Godara, executive engineer at GMDA, said the Sector 52A and 53/43 project would include resurfacing, reconstruction of drains and development of green areas.
"The main road and service roads will be overlaid," he said.
GMDA will also construct footpaths along the Rajiv Chowk-Sadar Bazar road and upgrade drainage to improve pedestrian access and rainwater runoff management. Godara said this was the first phase of a larger plan to improve the entire road up to the railway station.
The third project will involve repairs to the master dividing road between Sectors 3 and 5 and its service road.
"We have taken up several road works across the city and the change will be visible the in coming months," Godara said....
