cm dhami unveils Rs.65-crore flood protection works
Champawat, July 6 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday laid the foundation stone for two flood protection projects worth Rs.65.95 crore in Champawat district, saying the proposed Sharda embankment would provide long-term protection to vulnerable areas and serve as a strong foundation for the secure future of coming generations.
The chief minister performed the Bhoomi Pujan at Boomghat before laying the foundation stone for flood protection works along the Sharda River from Boom to Tanakpur at an estimated cost of Rs.60.21 crore.
He also inaugurated the construction of a flood protection wall on the Huddi River at a cost of Rs.5.74 crore to safeguard Chhinigoth village in Purnagiri tehsil from erosion and flooding.
Addressing the gathering, Dhami said the Sharda embankment project was not merely an infrastructure initiative but an investment in the safety, prosperity and long-term development of the region....
