Brics summit: Delhi, Central govt offices to shut on Sept 11
New Delhi, Sept. 4 -- All central and Delhi government offices will remain closed on September 11, Friday, in view of the BRICS Summit, which will be held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from September 11 to 13, an official order read.
The decision comes amid elaborate security and traffic arrangements planned for the movement of foreign delegations and VVIP motorcades.
The offices will also include autonomous bodies and public sector undertakings (PSUs). Traffic restrictions and diversions are expected across several parts of central, south and southwest Delhi.
"...Recognising the magnitude of this event, the substantial logistical arrangements involved and to minimise inconvenience to general public, it has been decided to keep the central government offices in Delhi/New Delhi closed on Friday, the 11th of September 2026 (12th and 13th of September being Saturday and Sunday respectively," the order, seen by HT, stated.
The summit will bring together leaders from about 30 BRICS member and partner countries....
