Dehradun, Aug. 19 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) state unit on Tuesday held Lok Sabha seat-wise meetings of its MPs and MLAs from the Garhwal region as part of its preparations for the upcoming state assembly elections. The meetings were held for the three Lok Sabha constituencies in the Garhwal region -Garhwal, Tehri Garhwal and Haridwar - and were chaired by BJP state president and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also attended the meetings. Taking to X, he later wrote, "Our government has taken many historic decisions giving priority to the interests of every region and every class of the state. For the benefits of these development works and welfare schemes to reach the bottom line, constant coordination between public representatives and workers is necessary." Bhatt, meanwhile, told reporters that the party's preparations for the assembly elections were progressing as scheduled. "Our preparations for the elections continue as planned, with programmes being finalised according to the timeline. Meetings for both Lok Sabha seats in Kumaon have already been held, while meetings for all three Lok Sabha seats in Garhwal, Garhwal, Tehri Garhwal and Haridwar, were held today. We discussed with MPs and MLAs what more can be done from the election perspective and finalised the overall programme," he said....
