Noida, Aug. 6 -- The Gautam Budh Nagar District Fee Regulatory Committee (DFRC) has imposed a penalty of Rs.1 lakh each on seven private schools for allegedly violating provisions of the Uttar Pradesh fee regulation Act, during the 2026-27 session, officials said Wednesday. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by DM Medha Roopam on Tuesday. According to district officials, six schools raised fee beyond the permissible limit of 7.23%, while one school charged annual fee separately from the composite fee and failed to upload 2025-26 fee structure on its portal. District inspector of schools Chandra Shekhar said the schools ignored notices.
