Haldwani, June 6 -- Nainital Police have arrested two brothers accused of interstate drug smuggling, and recovered 618 grams of smack worth approximately Rs.1.85 crore in the international market from their possession. Addressing a press conference, SSP, Nainital, Dr Manjunath TC, said the arrests were made following a tip-off about a major narcotics deal planned in Haldwani. "On Thursday evening, we received information that interstate smugglers were arriving in Haldwani with a large consignment of narcotics to strike a deal. Acting on the input, a joint team of the local police and the Special Operations Group was constituted under the leadership of City superintendent of police Manoj Kumar Katyal," he said. According to police, the joint team laid a trap and apprehended two accused at Paschim Khera in Gaulapar.
