Tata Motors, TVS take top honours at car&bike Awards 2026
India, March 16 -- Riding high on the momentum of their latest products, Tata Motors and TVS Motor Company picked up several accolades at the 2026 car&bike Awards. The recently launched Tata Sierra bagged a total of five awards, including the highly coveted Car of the Year title. TVS' new adventure bike, the Apache RTX, also received three awards, with the highlight being the Bike of the Year title.
Tata Motors also received the Engine of the Year award for its developed in-house 1.5-litre T-GDI 'Hyperion' petrol engine, while Maruti Suzuki's integrated CNG system was acknowledged as the Innovation of the Year. Other big winners of the night included the new Hyundai Venue (Subcompact SUV of the Year), Kia Carens Clavis EV (Family Car of the Year), Mahindra XEV 9e (Midsize Electric SUV of the Year), Yezdi Roadster (Bike Design of the Year), TVS Ntorq 150 (Scooter of the Year), Mahindra (Manufacturer of the Year) and Ultraviolette X47 (Electric Motorcycle of the Year), among others. The awards weren't limited to vehicles alone. Narayan Subramaniam, CEO of electric two-wheeler startup Ultraviolette Automotive, was adjudged Automotive Person of the Year for the company's contribution to elevating India's EV ecosystem.
The 2026 car&bike Awards and jury meet was spearheaded by editor-in-chief Girish Karkera, while the bike jury was led by senior editor Preetam Bora. This year's Awards event was backed by Bajaj General Insurance, mechatronics major PVNA Group, HR solutions firm Darwinbox and KYT Helmets.

It's a democratic and scientific way of choosing the winners based on the expertise of our jurors," said Girish at the ceremony.
