India, July 30 -- Actor Shehnaaz Gill, recently seen in the Punjabi romantic drama Ishqnama, has opened up about learning to value her worth in the entertainment industry. The actor revealed that she worked on several projects without charging a fee early in her career, but realised the gesture did not earn her the respect she expected. Today, she says remuneration is a non-negotiable factor before signing a film. Speaking to News18, Shehnaaz said, "Money is very important. It gives you respect. When I ask for what I deserve today, sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't, and sometimes it's less than what I quote. But everyone should fight for what they deserve." Reflecting on her initial days, she added, "Yes, there was a time when I did a lot of work for free. But uski mujhe izzat nahin mili. Now, I fight for what I deserve.
