India, April 13 -- The news of Asha Bhosle's passing has left a void in the industry, but for veteran actor Kalpana Iyer, the loss feels deeply personal. Reflecting on a bond that spanned decades, she recalls a warmth that went far beyond the recording studio. "She was one of the nicest, warmest people and a beautiful singer," Kalpana says, adding, "After Jab Chhaye Mera Jadoo from Lootmaar (1980), she once called me home and cooked for me herself. I was awestruck by the way she served me, in a beautiful silver thali filled with the best Maharashtrian food." For Kalpana, the grief is compounded as she continues to mourn her own mother. "Asha ji knew my mother was a big fan and very close to her. Whenever they met, she would sing her favourite song, Aao Huzoor. That smiling face is gone." Recalling their association, she says dancing to Asha's voice remains one of the most cherished parts of her career....
