India, Sept. 1 -- HT City recently reported that the Abhay Verma-Rasha Thadani-starrer Laikey Laikaa, originally slated for a summer 2026 release, has been pushed to February 2027. While such a delay could stress actors, Verma is unperturbed. "I've always believed in God's plan. God has really been helpful and kind to me during all the things that didn't happen. There were like eight films that didn't happen before Munjya (2024). But I believe that God is with me and everything will come at the right time," he tells us. The 28-year-old, meanwhile, is looking to end the year on a high with Shah Rukh Khan-starrer King, slated to release on December 24. "I've got to work with Shah Rukh sir, Abhishek (Bachchan) sir, Rani (Mukerji) ma'am and all these personalities I have idolised. There's a temple in my heart, and all these people reside in it," he shares. Crediting Khan as a source of inspiration, Verma says, "I saw dreams because of him. So, to come on the same screen with him was more than a dream. I didn't know it would come true so early. It meant more than anything." Recalling Khan's advice on choosing films, Verma reveals, "Every word that comes off his mouth just becomes legendary. I had asked him how he chose his early films, to which he said, 'Although the times were different, just work with people who love you and who you love'." Besides King and Laikey Laikaa, Verma has Jacob Cardoso, a film with Shanaya Kapoor, in the pipeline. His larger ambition, however, is to leave behind his "chocolate boy" image. "My biggest success would be that I break my image with every character that I play. I want my characters to live longer than me," Verma ends....
