India, Oct. 14 -- Actor Selma Blair, 54, was arrested at New York's John F Kennedy International Airport on Sunday after allegedly injuring two flight attendants aboard a flight. She was later charged with two counts of second-degree assault for allegedly kicking a police officer and a nurse after being taken to hospital. According to charging documents, a police officer escorting Blair to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center said the actor repeatedly kicked her in the face, neck and chest while being secured to a stretcher, causing pain and swelling. A nurse later alleged that Blair kicked her in the chest. Blair was arraigned at a Queens court late Monday. She appeared to cry as she stood in court in handcuffs. Her attorney, Shawn Barnes, told the judge that her actions were unintentional. He said Blair, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018, had missed several doses of medication used to control severe neurological symptoms, according to New York Post. Barnes said a heavy workload, a head injury during the flight and the effects of altitude had left her severely confused and disoriented. The judge set bail at $20,000 (approx Rs.19 Lakh) in cash or a $60,000 bond (approx Rs.57 lakh). Blair's next hearing is scheduled for January 2027. This is not the first time Blair has faced an incident aboard a flight. In 2016, she apologised after mixing alcohol with medication on a flight from Cancun to Los Angeles, saying the combination had caused her to black out.AP...
