Rashmeet Kaur closes DU fest season with a bang

he Delhi University fest season for 2026 has finally wrapped up! Concluding this on a high note was Mecca, one of the most popular annual cultural fests on campus, which transformed Hindu College into a concert arena with singer Rashmeet Kaur headlining the Saturday night.
Rashmeet opened with Faqeeran and slipped into the night with ease. She made sure to interact and make the crowd feel she was right there with them.
From Nadiyon Paar (Roohi, 2021), Ghana Kasoota and Jutti Kasoori, to the all-time fave Bajre Da Sitta, the singer sang it all and made the evening one of the loudest on North Campus! Among those singing along was Piya Chandra, a final-year student of Ramjas College, who shared: "My friends and I had been waiting for Mecca to happen for almost a month now. But, after attending, it feels like it was all worth the wait! To watch her this close, performing and singing along with us, was an amazing experience."
For Sehaj Verma, a second-year student of Hansraj College, the evening became unforgettable for another reason. She brought along an acrylic portrait of Rashmeet, hoping to catch the singer's attention. Not only did Rashmeet notice it, but she also invited Sehaj closer to the stage, accepted the artwork and posed for pictures. Moments later, holding up the portrait, Rashmeet said, "I love this so much! Thank you for taking the time out to make this," before dedicating Tere Bin Laage to the student.
"For her to actually invite me closer, talk to me, and then celebrate my art on stage with a song is something I had never dreamt of," Sehaj told HT City....
