India, June 1 -- F ollowing Paris Saint-Germain's (PSG) victory over Arsenal in the 2026 UEFA Champions League final on Saturday, celebrations across France descended into unrest, with violent incidents reported in several cities, particularly Paris. More than 400 arrests were made nationwide, with 280 in the capital city. Authorities said groups of fans set off fireworks, damaged property, torched vehicles and vandalised businesses. Police used tear gas and other crowd-control measures to disperse crowds. Anticipating large-scale celebrations, authorities had deployed around 22,000 officers across France, including about 8,000 in Paris, but the scale of the festivities and ensuing disorder still posed major challenges for law enforcement....
