Raghav Juyal wants to bring back Govinda-style comedy
India, July 18 -- With the films Bhooth Bangla, Welcome To The Jungle and Dhamaal 4 working well at the box office, comedies seem to be the trend of the season. And actor Raghav Juyal is happy to jump on the bandwagon. "For a long time, the kind of Govinda films we used to go watch, or Hera Pheri (2000), isn't happening through youngsters anymore... I wanted to bring back Govinda's youthfulness and freshness," he says.
Decoding why the genre might be connecting well with the current generation, he opines, "Youngsters have become intense, and there's so much happening in the world; people are taking so much tension in their lives. They should come for an hour or two and forget that tension."
While he gained popularity with his dance moves and comic timing, Juyal dabbled in the intense space with projects like Kill (2023) and Gyaarah Gyaarah. But he still doesn't agree to a certain formula for success: "The box is there, yes, but I haven't been boxed in. To me, I'm a beast... I say no to formula films. Just because something different worked doesn't mean I'll do it. It's not like if a producer from a big studio tells me to do it, I'll just do it. I don't fall into that trap."...
