India, Sept. 26 -- S outh Korean singer-actor Lim Jin-a, popularly known as Nana, has responded to criticism over her appearance in the historical drama The Scandal. The 35-year-old plays Hui-yeon, a Joseon-era widow who renounces worldly pleasures to live a life of chastity in the series. Some viewers criticised Nana's visibly plump lips, which they attributed to lip filler, saying it disrupted their immersion in the drama. Addressing fans via a private messaging app on Tuesday, Nana said, "If my lips made viewers uncomfortable, then that was my fault. I think it was a personal choice that wasn't the right one for me as an actor. I imagine that my fans must feel hurt seeing the harsh criticism directed at me, so I'm even more sorry. From now on, I'll do my best so that we can hear more positive things together." The Scandal is based on Pierre Choderlos de Laclos' 18th-century French novel Dangerous Liaisons.
