Malai kofta ranks 10th in world's 50 best deep-fried dishes; 2 more Indian foods make the cut
India, Oct. 2 -- If there's one thing Indian food never runs short of, it's delicious, crispy and indulgent bites. And now, three Indian favourites have secured spots in TasteAtlas' list of the 50 best deep-fried dishes in the world, released Monday night.
India's paneer-and-potato dumplings, fried until golden and then served in a rich, creamy gravy aka Malai Kofta landed at No. 10 on the list.
The other two Indian dishes, Chicken 65 and Papri Chaat, ranked 32 and 40, respectively. Chicken 65 originates from Chennai and has since built a fan base far beyond Tamil Nadu. Chaat, meanwhile, remains a quintessential Indian street-food favourite.
South Korea's Chikin, fried chicken served with a thin, crisp crust paired with beer as chimaek, claimed the top spot in the list. It was followed by Indonesia's Bator, fish dumplings served with peanut sauce, and Peru's Jalea, paired with beer as chimaek. htc...
