legendary tales get modern treatment
India, April 24 -- It looks like the legendary tales of mythology are coming back in vogue with several big production houses backing stories based on Indian mythology. From Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi to Prasanth Varma's Jai Hanuman and Mahakaali, the universe of stories is only getting bigger.
Ramayana
Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, is perhaps one of the highly awaited films for audience. With VFX done by Oscar winning DNEG Studios, the film boasts a star studded cast of Sunny Deol, Yash, Ravie Dubey amongst others. The film's teaser has already raised expectations and is set to release in October this year.
Mahakali
Hanu-Man fame director Prasanth Varma has announced Mahakali in 2025 with Bhoomi Shetty in the leading role. Interestingly, actor Akshaye Khanna plays the role of sage Shankracharya in the film which also marks his debut in Telugu cinema. Akshaye has already finished his part of the film.
Jai Hanuman

The film was launched in February earlier this year. While speaking to the media after the mahurat, Rishab spoke to the media and said, "I initially expressed my wish to the producer and director to hold the muhurat at the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. Today, the entire team has gathered here to seek his blessings, and we are happy and fortunate that it could take place at this sacred place. Jai Hanuman was announced even before the release of Kantara Chapter 1, and I view this as a rare chance to serve through film. This will be a divine movie and an opportunity to show our devotion on screen. Director Prasanth Varma has created a powerful story, and I believe that devotees and followers of Lord Rama and Hanuman will experience it with a deep sense of faith."
Mahavatar Parshuram
Backed by Hombale Films, the film is the second instalment in the Mahavatar Universe and immense success of Mahavatar Narsimha. The motion poster of the film announced that the film is going to
