Kumar Sanu's voice is why I fell in love with music, says King
India, March 7 -- In a nod to '90s nostalgia, musician King has brought together iconic voices such as Kumar Sanu, Shaan, Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan and Rekha Bharadwaj for his latest studio album, Raja Hindustani, inspired by the 1996 cult film starring Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor.
"The idea was to create music and a world that feels timeless. I've grown up listening to these voices. I wanted to create something that shows my love for timeless Indian melodies," says the 30-year-old, known for hits such as Tu Maan Meri Jaan and Tu Aake Dekh Le.
Explaining why he wanted to collaborate with singers whose voices are etched into popular memory, he shares, "These are artistes whose songs have shaped how we understand love, heartbreak, and longing. Each voice brings a certain honesty that can't be manufactured."
The most special moment of the project was sharing a studio with Kumar Sanu: "It is a core memory for me. The way he approaches music is so pure and instinctive. It reminded me why I fell in love with music."...
