Italian PM Meloni slams deepfake photo, takes a sarcastic dig
India, May 7 -- I
talian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, on Tuesday, took to X to hit back at criticism sparked by deepfake photos of her in lingerie, denouncing it as a "political attack".
Meloni reshared a post where a user shamed her over the deepfake image, believing it to be genuine. "Whoever created them... has also improved me quite a bit," she quipped.
Highlighting the misuse of AI as a tool in damaging reputations, she urged people to check the authenticity of online content, writing: "verify before believing, and believe before sharing."
Previously, several Indian actors, including Sreeleela, Rakul Preet Singh, and Rashmika Mandanna, have also spoken out against the rising issue of deepfake images. HTC...
