India, Sept. 29 -- The Income Tax Department on Monday conducted searches at 12 locations in Mumbai linked to actor Rakul Preet Singh, her father-in-law and film producer Vashu Bhagnani, and Kumar Mangat Pathak-led Panorama Studios. According to TV9, the department launched searches at 12 locations over suspected financial irregularities. Officials were reportedly examining whether funds had allegedly been routed overseas under the guise of financing film projects. Multiple teams were said to be scrutinising documents, financial records and details of overseas transactions. Bhagnani is associated with Pooja Entertainment, which he runs with son Jackky Bhagnani and has backed films such as Coolie No. 1 (1995), Hero No. 1 (1997) and Biwi No. 1 (1999). Panorama Studios, headed by Mangat, is known for films including Raid and the Drishyam franchise. Bollywood Hungama later reported that officials were also conducting searches at filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar's office.
