How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days sequel in works
India, Aug. 26 -- More than two decades after the rom-com How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, the producers are developing a sequel with Kate Hudson, who starred in the original, attached as a producer alongside Stacey Sher. Hudson and Matthew McConaughey, who played magazine writer Andie Anderson and ad executive Benjamin Barry, respectively, are being eyed to return, but neither has signed on yet. A screenwriter is also yet to be hired, and no release timeline has been set.
The original, released in February 2003 and directed by Donald Petrie, grossed $177.5 million (approx Rs.1,700 crore) worldwide against a reported $50 million (approx Rs.478 crore) budget. It follows Andie, who tries to drive a man away within 10 days for a magazine article, while Ben bets he can make a woman fall for him in the same period.
Hudson had said in 2024 that she and McConaughey were open to a sequel if they liked the script. McConaughey also recently said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that the film still gives him the highest residual income of his career.HTC...
