Hollywood bids adieu to OG mutant Patrick Stewart
India, Oct. 31 -- Hollywood legend Sir Patrick Stewart died on Wednesday in Los Angeles at 86 following a brief battle with Alzheimer's disease and Lewy Body Dementia. He was best known for portraying Captain Jean-Luc Picard in the Star Trek films and Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men franchise, and his final on-screen appearance will be in Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel Studios has confirmed in its tribute to the actor.
The English actor's death has left the entertainment industry mourning, with tributes pouring in from friends, co-stars and colleagues, including Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, William Shatner, Dafne Keen, and the Russo brothers.
Interestingly, in one of his last interviews, published by TV Insider in July, Stewart said he had no plans to retire from acting. "As any actor my age will tell you, there are fewer and fewer available roles as we get older. That being said, I still continue to receive interesting offers and I love being challenged by new work. I can't imagine ever officially retiring. I'll always and forever be an actor," he had said.
Stewart is survived by his wife, Sunny Ozell, as well as by his two adult children from his first marriage, Daniel and Sophie Stewart. htc...
