Ganesh Chaturthi: Delhi is all hands-on to craft Bappa idols
India, Aug. 23 -- The excitement for Ganesh Chaturthi has found its way among Delhiites, who are on the hunt for experiences to create their own Ganesha. From group sessions for beginners to intimate one-on-ones and family activities, there are options aplenty.
"There is a different feeling of devotion when you take home a Ganpati idol that you craft with your own hands," says Mukesh Kumar, who is conducting a terracotta Ganesha workshop by TalesofCity. "You don't need to know how to sculpt or have an artistic epiphany. You just need to be willing to sit down with a piece of Earth, and the will to give life to Ganesha," he adds.
The workshops are becoming a reason for families to meet and spend some time together. Shipra Goyal from Chaak Pottery Studio, who is offering DIY kits for such experiences, shares: "These are especially for family time. The child can paint the idol, and everyone can get involved. There are four-five designs to choose from."...
