Finding answersin movement

hen life feels heavy, as it often does in the modern age, turning to religious scriptures can offer both respite and answers to existential dilemmas. Questions that trouble people across generations find resonance in Ken Upanishad, a spiritual dance drama debuting in the Capital today.
"The scriptures were created for everyone but remained limited to scholars and never truly reached the masses," says Dr Rahul Gupta, senior gastroenterologist and trustee of Arpana Trust, which is presenting the show. "Years ago, our Guru Ma simplified these teachings. We later collaborated with performing artistes to bring them to life as a dance ballet, helping people see their relevance. The first in this series is based on the Ken Upanishad, which has been staged earlier in Karnal (Haryana)." The production is co-directed by Pushpanjali Mohanty.
The hour-long immersive choreography will be performed by 28 artistes from AMAIZA, led by danseuse Nitisha Nanda, a senior disciple of Odissi Guru Sharon Lowen. "The message of the Ken Upanishad is simple and universal," says Nitisha, adding, "It speaks of Brahma as the force that runs all beings. When surrounded by questions, if we let go of the 'I' and centre Brahma instead, the answers begin to emerge."...
