India, Sept. 14 -- Diljit Dosanjh made Punjabi music history on Saturday, becoming the first Punjabi artiste to headline London's 90,000-capacity Wembley Stadium. The sold-out Aura World Tour stop put him on one of the world's biggest live stages, before he announced his next stadium outing: Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. Taking the Wembley stage in traditional attire, Diljit greeted fans with, "Punjabi Aa Gaye Wembley Oye! This moment will go down in the history books," before performing hits including G.O.A.T., Lover, Hass Hass and Born to Shine. The Punjabi takeover went beyond the stage. Diljit's tours have featured free turban-tying camps for concertgoers, while Wembley hosted a dedicated Diljit Fan Park ahead of the sold-out show. Announcing the Ahmedabad concert, he referred to Coldplay's recent sold-out show at the venue and said, "The biggest stadium is in India - Narendra Modi Stadium. Ek gorey group ne waha pe sell out kar diya tha (Coldplay). Respect for them, bahut mubarkan. India mein stadium ho, aur Punjabi udhar na ho, yeh toh phir ho nahi sakta." He then told the Wembley crowd, "We are doing Narendra Modi Stadium on 21 November 2026."
