India, Aug. 30 -- T wenty-five years after Dil Chahta Hai made Goa road trips, friendship and growing up feel impossibly cool, its gang came together again in Mumbai on Friday - well, almost. Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar reunited to celebrate 25 years of the cult coming-of-age film, which released on August 10, 2001. Dimple Kapadia, Sonali Kulkarni and co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani also joined the nostalgia-filled evening. Missing from the frame, however, were two familiar faces - Akshaye Khanna, who played the sensitive Sid, and Preity Zinta, Aamir's on-screen love interest Shalini. Fans were quick to notice. "Where is Rahman dakait?" asked one, referring to Akshaye's acclaimed Dhurandhar character, while another wrote, "Incomplete without AK n PZ." Preity, who is currently in Paris, could not make it to the Mumbai reunion. Akshaye, meanwhile, called in sick.
