India, July 3 -- Singer Stebin Ben has responded to social media chatter about an alleged rift between his mother and wife Nupur Sanon after a paparazzi video (above) went viral. The clip, which showed the couple stepping out with their parents, prompted some users to claim that Stebin's mother had ignored Nupur and her family. Addressing the speculation, Stebin told Galatta India that the moment had been misinterpreted. "My parents are very simple people. Whenever they see the media, they quietly move away because they feel that the media is there for me, not for them. They think, 'This is your profession. People want to see you, not us'," he said. According to Stebin, his parents only realised photographers were present after spotting camera flashes and instinctively walked ahead. "Nupur tried to stop them, but they didn't even realise someone was calling them," he added. The singer also dismissed claims that Nupur shares a strained equation with her mother-in-law. "People are saying Nupur got a dangerous mother-in-law, but it's exactly the opposite," he said, adding that his parents are deeply family-oriented and that Nupur and his mother are especially close. He said, "Whenever we play games at home, my mother and Nupur are always on the same team. My father and I are on the other side. That's the kind of bond they share." HTC...
