India, Aug. 11 -- Days after news emerged that actor Kirti Kulhari had fallen victim to a credit card fraud of around Rs.2.42 lakh, she says dealing with its aftermath took an unexpected toll on her health, eventually landing her in hospital. "It was one thing after another," she tells us, recalling first spotting an unauthorised transaction while at a movie screening and initially wondering whether it was an error. She later raised a dispute with her bank, contacted the cybercrime helpline and spent the next two days completing formalities, including filing a complaint and making bank visits. The stress, coupled with going without food for long stretches, she believes, triggered gastritis and hyperacidity: "It landed me in the hospital after two days of failed medication at home, I think skipping meals for four or five hours at a stretch while dealing with the fallout of the fraud could be the cause, but such is life." The episode also left her with a personal takeaway. "Today I know that acidity is a big issue and I need to be eating on time, so everything in life happens for a purpose," she says, adding, "Kaam toh rukta nahin hai."
