India, Sept. 6 -- For years, the Prestige Group has been a force in Indian real estate, crafting landmark developments across residential and commercial sectors. Its vast portfolio spans luxury townships, private villa communities, tech parks, and corporate office campuses, complemented by iconic retail malls and world-class, five-star hospitality venues. Beyond buildings, the group's in-house facility management arm provides high-touch concierge care and support for homeowners and business clients. At the heart of Prestige Group's evolution lies the guiding ethos of people and purpose, where property development moves past standard concrete to shape how modern India actually lives. Playing a crucial role in shaping the modern-day identity of the real estate developer is its Whole-time Director, Uzma Irfan, who believes in building her brand narrative through earned trust and commitment to quality. Talking about the common thread that ties her diverse portfolio, Irfan tells us, "In real estate, we're creating a place for people, whether it's a home for a family, a mall, a staycation at one of our hotels, or an office. There is joy in coming to these spaces. So, for me, the common thread has always been people and purpose." The 47-year-old, who is the daughter of Indian businessman Irfan Razack and has a background in communications, is known for her innovative concepts and forward-thinking approach. She reflects on her role in keeping the Group relevant to younger audiences, saying, "With younger audiences, digital presence has become essential. Visibility matters, because if there's no brand recall value, people forget you. But recall alone isn't enough; you also have to live up to what you say. For us, delivering on time and building quality homes is what ultimately earns goodwill and trust." Drawing on her role as joint secretary of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India (CREDAI), Irfan also highlights the key changes the industry has undergone over the years. "The Indian consumer is well-travelled and well-read. Everyone's getting into wellness; they want everything at their fingertips: a supermarket, a party hall, a pool, safety for kids to play. All of this has to be at the heart of the design. Sustainability is a big conversation too, but it's something we, at Prestige, have long practised. The consumers are no longer price-conscious; they're quality-conscious. So we regularly see where the pulse of the tech world is and try to stay ahead of it," she says. Addressing perceptions of gender bias in real estate, Irfan says she does not believe the industry is defined by it, though she acknowledges that construction has traditionally been male-dominated. "Interiors need a woman's touch, and there's landscape, architecture, design, lighting consultancy... There's so much scope for women in this industry. Ultimately, what earns respect isn't gender; it's knowledge, integrity, consistency, and the ability to deliver," she ends. HTC...
