Classical traditions comealive at Purana Qila
India, Oct. 6 -- Delhi came alive over the weekend as it witnessed the timeless rhythms of Indian classical dance at the three-day Indraprastha Dance Festival that concluded on Sunday. Organised by Delhi Tourism, Government of Delhi, the festival brought together more than 150 acclaimed artists from India and abroad, creating a vibrant confluence of tradition, creativity and cultural expression. Set against the historic grandeur of the Purana Qila (Old Fort), the festival showcased diverse classical and folk forms including Kuchipudi, Odissi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Sattriya, Mohiniyattam, Kathakali and Manipuri. The recitals featured award-winning gurus, dancers and ensembles, as they got together to celebrate India's rich artistic heritage while connecting classical traditions with contemporary audiences....
