China's twin gathering becomes a festive cultural celebration
India, May 9 -- More than 1,000 pairs of twins from across the world came together in Southwest China for the 20th Mojiang International Twins Festival. Recently concluded, the festival is held in Yunnan's Mojiang Hani Autonomous County, also famously known as the country's 'Home of Twins'.
Drawing participants from nearly 20 countries, the festival celebrated twin culture through colourful parades, talent showcases, cultural performances and local food experiences. This year's festival also featured distinctive banquets celebrating regional flavours.
Both locals and tourists participated in the unique 'Rub Your Face Black' tradition, where they smear black ash on each other's faces to ward off bad luck, pray for health, and bless one another with happiness and prosperity.
Since its launch in 2005, the festival has grown into an internationally recognised cultural event, drawing over 4.4 million visitors in total.HTC...
