India, May 1 -- S outh Korean singer-actor Cha Eun-woo is back in the spotlight even as his mandatory military service, which began in July last year, continues. Fresh images and videos of Cha in uniform surfaced online Tuesday, quickly gaining traction on social media. But the attention hasn't arrived without baggage. In the visuals, Cha appears in formal military attire, saluting alongside a military band orchestra. A clip also captures him singing One Candle by South Korean boy band g.o.d. His poised demeanour and the 'face genius' image, denoting the flawless face the 29-year-old has long been associated with, only added to the online chatter. Still, the reaction has been far from unanimous. While fans welcomed the glimpse of the star, conversations around his earlier tax controversy were reignited. The scrutiny dates back to January, when reports alleged tax evasion by Cha through a family-owned paper company to lower his tax bracket. The National Tax Service imposed additional taxes and penalties, initially amounting to nearly 20 billion won (approximately Rs.129 crore).
