India, Sept. 27 -- More than two decades after Aari Aari first became a party fave, the evergreen hit from Bombay Rockers is back in the spotlight thanks to its recreation in Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Navtej Singh Rehal aka Nav, who was in Delhi on Friday for Denmark Day celebrations, says the revival has pulled him back towards making music. "Aari Aari is like my first child," he says, adding, "Seeing it come to life again with composer Shashwat Sachdev's remake is a total blessing. I'm usually not a big fan of remixes, but this one worked really well. Seeing today's youth connect to it just warms my heart." The response has also changed his plans: "If you asked me a year ago, I would have told you I was about to retire. But after Dhurandhar, I've got this urge to make music again. I've already recorded some new tracks." Denmark may be home, but Delhi remains close to him. "My parents are from Delhi; we used to live in Malviya Nagar," he says. And every visit comes with familiar cravings. "Chaat and gol gappe are must-haves as soon as I get here," he says, adding that one Punjabi ritual has survived life abroad: "We have aloo de paranthe every Sunday."...
