Bhagyashree reacts to trolls: Everyone is entitled to their dietary choices
India, July 8 -- Bhagyashree caused a stir when a behind-the-scenes clip of a Reel shoot recently surfaced online. In the video, the actor is seen promoting Banarasi lassi, only to allegedly set it aside once the cameras stopped rolling. As per posts on Reddit and other social media platforms, she also refused to consume the drink, citing concerns about "sugar and fat."
Addressing the issue, Bhagyashree calls the narrative being built "funny," clarifying, "I was actually upset with my cameraman for not getting the shot right. I was genuinely looking forward to tasting that chilled lassi on such a scorching hot day."
The 57-year-old also explains her comment on dietary choices: "Everyone is entitled to their dietary choices. For someone with diabetes, a sweetened lassi may not be the right choice. While I am not diabetic, in today's time, we are all advised to practice moderation - so what is the harm in being cautious?"
Bhagyashree insists that the shoot wasn't just for show, but was meticulously planned. "There are countless shops in Banaras using the name 'Pahalwan Lassi', which can be confusing. Before filming, I visited six different shops to identify which one was genuinely the oldest and most authentic, and then shot there to let people know about the real shop," she shares.
While she has accepted that dealing with trolls is a part of her profession, the actor still gets affected by it. "It saddens me that some people would rather spend time spreading negativity than appreciating and celebrating our food, culture, and traditions. They choose to focus on baseless speculation instead. I feel sorry for them," she ends....
