India, May 24 -- Actor Arya Babbar has accused his half-brother, Prateik Smita Patil, of publicly distancing himself from their father, Raj Babbar, while continuing to benefit from his support. Arya made the remarks during a recent interview with Vickey Lalwani, months after Prateik reportedly did not invite Raj Babbar or his first family to his wedding with actor Priya Banerjee. Prateik, the son of Raj Babbar and late actor Smita Patil, also recently changed his name from Prateik Babbar to Prateik Smita Patil. Speaking about the growing distance within the family, Arya claimed Prateik stopped communicating with them after his divorce from his first wife and never replied to his messages. Arya further alleged that despite rejecting the family publicly, Prateik continued accepting financial help from Raj Babbar. "When your career is not doing well, and you need pocket money from dad to survive, then he is your father. When you want all the benefits, then he is your father. But when you have to acknowledge him in front of society, then he is not your father," Arya said. He added, "As an elder brother, I love him, but when he is wrong, he is wrong." In the same interview, Arya also reflected on Raj Babbar's relationship with Smita Patil and said he no longer holds bitterness over the past. "Which child would like to hear that their father had an affair? But it happened, and it is okay now," he said, adding that he has gradually made peace with it over the years.HTC...
