Art and audience converge in the Capital
India, April 16 -- Delhi's art circuit slipped into a slower, more contemplative rhythm as Staged Realities opened for preview at Bikaner House, marking economist-turned-painter Nayanaa Kanodia's return to the Capital with a solo show after nearly two decades. Inside, Kanodia's paintings unfolded quietly as her work depicted Mumbai in all its layers - from crowded streets to hushed interiors.
Her signature naive style, rich in detail and laced with gentle wit, transformed everyday moments into scenes that felt both intimate and slightly theatrical.
She said, "My work has always come from observing the world around me, especially a city like Mumbai, which is always in flux. I'm drawn to small moments, everyday situations, and the many contradictions that exist within them."
The exhibition is on till April 20....
