India, April 22 -- Actor Anne Hathaway has offered a fresh update on The Princess Diaries 3, confirming that work on the long-awaited sequel is actively underway. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor spoke about revisiting Genovia while promoting her upcoming project, The Devil Wears Prada 2, alongside actor Meryl Streep. "100%, we're constantly working on it," Hathaway said. "(The Devil Wears Prada 2) cropped up unexpectedly and took over the space," she said, adding that it "became impossible to focus on both at the same time." Now, the 43-year-old confirmed "the intention is to make Princess Diaries hopefully next," stressing that the threequel is not yet official as it has not been "greenlit or confirmed yet." Aware that "everybody wants it," she and her collaborators are currently "chipping away at the script." Reflecting on the expectations tied to reviving a fan-favourite, Hathaway says, "If I learned anything from (The Devil Wears Prada 2), it's that expectations are very, very high, and if you're going to do it, you have to knock it out of the park," with Streep adding, "You've got to wait for the right script."
